Since I could spend my pocket money on a fresh stack of CDs from Woolworths, I’ve been building playlists. My taste started with my dad’s 70s mods and rockers albums, but once I had control of the radio, I was discovering music on my own terms. I listened all day long, and when someone gave me a pen radio, I was set — I could tune in even at school. I’d fall asleep listening to the radio every night. That love of music led me to study Radio Production at Leeds City College, and later Radio Broadcasting at the University of Westminster. Where I became Head of Music for the university’s radio station. I showcased fresh, exciting tracks on my college and uni radio shows, and followed that passion by writing for 7Bit Arcade, then launching my own blog, Loud Horse. I’ve also produced and hosted shows on Soho Radio, 95.6 BRFM, Radio War & Peace, my own Mixcloud series, and more recently, Durham OnAir. My whole life I’ve been living and breathing music in every way I can.

As a professional DJ, I make bespoke playlists weekly. I spend hours on these and they typically take me days to craft. I have always been commended on my skill to produce a whole playlist of music off the back of a few suggestions from a client. I hear what their tastes are, and what they want to achieve for their evening or special day and combine the two.

Frankie was absolutely excellent at our event which was quite a niche brief. It was a closed staff event for Barnsley College, during the early afternoon to launch our new employee value proposition, but she curated the atmosphere so accurately and we received so many lovely comments on how her presence really brought life to the event. We weren't too well versed in that type of event but she put us at ease and worked with us so cooperatively and professionally to find a suitable set up for the event. Thank you Frankie! - Jessica

Fran DJ’d at my recent 40th birthday party in Leeds and frankly was bloody brilliant. I didn’t give much of a brief but Fran understood the vibe and put on a great set. I also has a saxophonist and Fran was excellent at working with the performer to choose and play a great mix of tunes that had everyone dancing and commenting on. Highly recommended. - Lee
